ABSTRACT
Web-based
school information system is not something new. However, it
is believed that with this information
system which is also completed with complementary features such
as Online Exam, PSB Online and
Discussion Forum as the real step in developing education quality in this
country. There are at least two reasons
behind the creation of this information system. The first reason is
the lack of the performance efficiency of
the information system that is built separately
and manually where the weaknesses of each system
will create new
obstacles for the school development.
The second is the rapid development of the information technology, as a result of
becoming the responsibility of educators to participate in creating their
students’ mindset into the mindset that is adaptable to the emerging technologies. The author tries to
apply the information system
on one of the school achievement image, SMA Negeri
2 Muaro Jambi. The author builds
the system using PHP and MySQL programming language,
in addition the art of CSS and
JQuery which is applied using Adobe
Dreamweaver CS3. The
information can be accessed by
common users, different from the information that can be accessed by the users
who have an account / students. Besides updating and deleting the information just only
can be done by the Administrator.
